Which Apple Watch Should I Choose?
The first Apple Watch was released in 2015, more than 7 years ago. Since then, several versions of the Apple Watch have been launched, and the Series 8 is expected in the fall of 2022. The very first model is no longer available, not even refurbished. However, the newer editions are, but how do you choose between four different Apple Watch Series? We answer the five most frequently asked questions about which Apple Watch to choose and compare the specifications.Which Apple Watch is waterproof?
The first Apple Watch models were only splash-proof. Starting with the Apple Watch Series 3 and newer editions, they are waterproof up to 50 meters deep. This makes it an ideal watch for swimming and tracking that workout.Note: When purchasing a refurbished Apple Watch, the model has been opened, cleaned, and prepared for a new user. As a result, the Apple Watch may not be fully waterproof.
Can the Apple Watch track my sleep?
With the Sleep app, you can track your sleep. When you wear your watch while sleeping, the Apple Watch measures when and how long you sleep using your heart rate and breathing frequency. You can set different goals, such as a sleep goal (how many hours you want to sleep per night), times for going to bed and waking up, and wind-down time (how long you want to relax before bed). You can easily track this with sleep schedules. You can use the Sleep app if you have installed watchOS 8 on your Apple Watch. At the moment, all Apple Watches in our range (Series 3, 4, 5, and 6) are supported. However, the newer the model, the better the measurements. This is because the sensors have been improved over the years, and new sensors have been added.
Why choose an Apple Watch Cellular?
The Apple Watch Cellular, or Apple Watch 4G, allows you to link an eSIM card to your watch. This is a digital SIM card that functions like the SIM card in your iPhone. This enables you to make calls with your Apple Watch even when you don't have your iPhone with you, and you're always connected to the internet. Additionally, the eSIM also makes your smartwatch more accurate when tracking your location during a run. However, in the Netherlands and Belgium, there are still few providers of SIM cards for the Apple Watch. Additionally, you will need to take out a separate subscription, as the eSIM cannot be linked to your current phone plan. The Apple Watches in our range are not compatible with eSIM cards.
Which Apple Watch has fall detection?
All Apple Watches from the Series 4 onwards come with fall detection. This means that the watch automatically detects if you take a hard fall and may need to make an emergency call. In such a case, your emergency contacts listed in your Medical ID are also notified. This way, your loved ones are immediately informed if something happens. If you have fallen but don't need emergency services, you can simply dismiss the notification.Fall detection is particularly useful if you are less mobile or if you do a lot of sports while wearing your Apple Watch.
What is Apple Watch Nike?
Since the Apple Watch Series 2, every edition has had a Nike version. The idea behind it is that this Apple Watch is specifically designed for runners. In fact, it works exactly the same as the standard edition and has the same appearance. However, the watchband that comes with it is different; this band is more durable and more breathable than the regular sports bands due to its perforated design. Additionally, you get a few extra watch faces with the Nike edition, and the Nike logo is on the back of the Apple Watch. The Nike Run Club app is also pre-installed on this Nike Apple Watch, which lets you track your runs, monitor your stats, and review your history.Specifications
