How does multitasking work on your iPad?

Do you know how to get the most out of your iPad? What many users don’t know is that the iPad offers various options for multitasking, making it a good alternative to a laptop.

Not all iPads are suitable for these handy features. If you own an iPad Pro, you can use all of these functions. For the iPad Air, iPad mini, and standard iPad, older models do not support these functions. So which models are suitable for multitasking?



Split View

Want to run and use two apps simultaneously on your iPad? You can with Split View. It’s similar to Slide Over, but in Split View, the apps are opened side by side, allowing you to use them at the same time. However, not all apps support Split View, including both Apple and third-party apps. 

You can enable Split View in two ways. If your iPad is updated to iPadOS 15, apps that support Split View will display three dots at the top of the screen. When you click on them, you can choose the middle option, Split View. Your iPad will then automatically open the home screen so you can choose a second app to open alongside your current app. 

If your iPad is still on iPadOS 14, you can also use Split View. A
