In 2019, the Refurbished Quality Mark was introduced to provide consumers with more transparency regarding the quality of refurbished smartphones. Initially, this quality mark was only available for refurbished iPhones, and later it was extended to include iPads and MacBooks. The quality mark was primarily focused on Apple products. However, not all refurbished products come from Apple. Windows laptops are also increasingly being offered as refurbished. Recently, the Refurbished Quality Mark has been extended to professional Windows computers as well.

Since there is also a high demand for (business) Windows laptops that are refurbished, having a quality mark was necessary. This has now led to regulations being established for refurbishing Windows computers. 

When refurbishing Windows laptops, as many as 50 different components are inspected. The camera is tested, as well as the keyboard and microphone. But other, less obvious parts are also subjected to extensive testing. This is no different from how it’s done with Apple MacBooks. Additionally, the laptop is thoroughly cleaned and repaired where necessary. This ensures that you, as a customer, are guaranteed a high-quality Windows laptop. You even get a standard two-year warranty, including on the battery and charger. You don’t always get this, even with a new Windows computer.

Although the refurbished market is growing, refurbished Windows laptops are lagging behind. There are very few suppliers offering refurbished HP, Dell, or Lenovo laptops, and even fewer with the Refurbished Quality Mark. SWOOP is truly unique in this regard.
